Only certain companies pay dividends.
Each company that pays a dividend does so at different times and at different frequencies.
You can find out when a certain company is going to pay a dividend by signing up to their email list on the investor relations section of their corporate websites.
Dividends will normally be deposited directly into your brokerage account. However, you can double check this by navigating to the Investor Relations page of the company you are invested in.
